Snowshoe Thompson

A fictionalized account of how skiing came to the United States. Young Danny is disappointed when he learns that heavy snow means that the letter he has written to his father, who is away mining for gold, will not reach his dad until spring. Determined to get the letter delivered, postman and Norwegian immigrant John Thompson creates a pair of skies so that he can cross the snow-covered mountains.
